This place's big crabs was recommended on TV a few months back, I've finally got the chance to check this out with my family.
Coffee shop with Table-cloth settings, as this is managed by Boon Tong Kee, thus the standard is acceptable.
They have got a good variety of Crab dishes, and have got 1Kg up to 2Kg crabs choices... S$40 per Kg (before 20% discount) .... after discount, its ordinary market price ...
We took Black Pepper Crab, sauce a bit too sweet for my family's taste, sauce is too spicy for me. But the crab meat and the black pepper sauce is generous.
We also tried their Salted Egg Butter Crab, its still a bit too sweet for my family's taste, but I personally like the taste which is not too saltish salted egg mixed with butter and sugar (similar taste as butter prawns) and generous size crab meat. Yummy !
Another of its specialty is Steamed Shark's Fish Head (base on market rate price, ours was S$27). Its not the usual fish head meat, for this shark's head, its eating those jelly-like stuff of its head... this is something different, Must Try !
I like the choices of size of their crabs, there's good size meat at the crab legs too. Will go back again to try other Crab dishes to explore anything else I like.
As for the address of this outlet at Changi Road, this is actually near Kembangan MRT / East Coast. For those who drive, the car parking seems challenging and limited space there, but can park across the road, or along Lor G Telok Kurau.
The place got ample seats during weekday, and on weekend , the crowd only for a short period at the peak of dinner meal hours. It is not as crowded as when it was first featured on TV food program a few months back.
