Having gone to this restaurant last week for lunch, I left the place with much a pretty good impression. We ordered some of their ala cart dishes on the menu, such as sweet and sour pork, crispy noodle and yang zhou chao fan. So to start it off, let me first introduce the highly recommended sweet and sour pork. I swear that I have never eaten such a good and nice sweet and sour pork at any other place other than this restaurant. The pork served is so soft and the sauce they used are just the right combination of sweet and sour favour! Yummy!!
Up next is their cripsy noodle. They used a generous portion of "dai zi", "xiao bai cai" and mushroom to compliment this dish. The taste of the noodle is normal, but the side compliments served, for example the "dai zi" is fresh and soft. One bite into it is enough to send you soaring to heaven.
For their Yang Zhou Chao Fan though, is nothing out of the ordinary. It taste the same as what you would get at any other "zi ca" stall in the coffee shop. I would recommend you give this dish a skip and order some other dish on the menu.
For their service wise, I would find that they are very attentive. Waitress would automatically filled up your tea when they saw that your cup is almost empty. Their supervisor would come around the table to get feedbacks on the quality of the food served so that they can continuously improved in the service and dishes served. Good job and keep it up

just returned from boss' treat at this restaurant (:
for one, its really ulu. to reach the restaurant, you have to either own a car or love to walk..but the plus point is that its quite quiet.
wasabi prawns with broccoli was really good, the broccoli very fresh and prawns large and juicy..together with the wasabi-spiked mayo, the dish was really oishii!!
mango-prawn roll was slightly disappointing, boss commented that he couldnt tell whether it was mango or banana
hargow and siew mai were average, i was never a big fan, plus at this point it was really prawn overload!!
the spinach with 3 eggs..my grandma's version is nicer. this one was spinach in some soupy gravy topped with egg, century egg and little cubes of salted egg yolk.
anw other than the fact that i didnt get water top-ups, and the chilli sauce plates were placed unreasonably out of reach, it was good food (:

I love Yunnan Garden’s dim sum. Went to their new branch at One-North, NTU Alumni Club a couple of times.
I will always order their Steam dim sum set (prawn dumplings, siew mai, bbq pork bun, fragrant dumplings with lily bulbs) and Fried dim sum (pan fried carrot cake, vegetarian spring roll, prawn with mango roll, bean curb skin roll with chives.
The recommended with vegetables dish is XO sauce pan-fried Asparagus with scallops. Oiishi!!! It’s actually a custom-made dish. I want Asparagus with scallops, but the staff insisted that I should their XO sauce. The combination is delicious! The ingredients are fresh!
The special dish that I ordered that day is the lobster noodles ($16 per person). Sauce is flavorful. Lobster is fresh. Its a difficult to eat dish. Coz need to dissect the lobster. :p
