Valentine's Day Irony

I started a thread on what are the3 best gifts for your beloved in a foodie group... (Yes! nothing draws a crowd like sharing food knowledge does) and we did receive quite a few nice feedbacks from the ladies ranging from the good old fashion Roses and romantic dinners to unthinkable stuffs like a marriage proposal or cooking maggi mee. It soon became an Tug of War with the boys on one end insisting on practicality and not following these old fashioned culture which they also deemed obsolete while the Girls were putting up a good fight in the name of love, romance and appreciating each other with sparks that might lead to hot licking flames. While some women says that their boyfriends were romantic and V-Day was memorable up until they became their husbands!
What do you think makes the best gifts or should you be giving anyway?

Tablet Peeping Tom
Last modified on Tuesday, 28-01-2014 by Leenie Pigs
I was minding my own business on the train while a boy of age say 12ish walks down the cabins and got settled next to an adult watching some show on his tablet. The boy peeped and later looked obviously at the tablet which is obviously rude. Though it warmed my heart when both started to laugh at the same joke, my over imaginary mind starts to wonder, what if its another adult stranger peeping or if a personal text message got displayed, what would the peepie do? Will he shoo the peeper away? Is it okay if the peeper is child or looked harmless? I mean some stranger is leaning towards you watching what you are watching, its somewhat irritating isnt it?
While the man finally alighted from the train, the boy continued strolling down the train in search for another tablet or phones to peep. Hm.... how weird can this world be?
Story Telling Vs Watching TV

I was at the national library the other day and while I wandered into the children's section, this is what I saw, a good old story telling session and its in mandarin. I can't help but be enticed by the story teller to seat and listen while stray thoughts of young and old memories came into my mind. Thoughts of people crowding around the ancient looking radio listening to 'LEI DAI SOR' Rediffusion era and commuters watching USA Serials on their mobile phones.
Have we lost the joy of simply listening while we exercise our imagination and creativity of visualizing scenes and story lines? Are children today too busy catching up with media and technology and forgotten to smell the flowers as we stroll in the park?
Standing too close or molesting me?

I was shocked to read the news article about an foreign national Man molested four women in 10 minutes at the supermarket. A Matter of fact, being so crowded everywhere these days especially while taking public transport during peak hours, it is inevitable that you may come into body contact with another commuter. It is no longer just bags touching rather while the staffs tries to pack as many people into the train it feels like body to body. So I guess its rather difficult to differentiate if its an intentional touch or non-intentional touch. Of course if its an outright intentional molestation we are obviously gonna beat that fellar into a pulp. The thing is how far a molester could go before we scream police and kick him in his groin? Do we have to feel the second touch to reconfirm he is molesting me or wait for another victim to react before we do?
High Rise Littering!

Spot the picture on your right! Anything you see looking dangerous? A couple of hints, this HDB flat is 20 stories high and the picture is taken midway approximately on the tenth floor and above. I mean what if theres a sudden thunderstorm or strong gust of wind? Things not secured properly might just fall beneath and hit somebody walking below. I mean we never know what could happen otherwise accidents would not be called accidents.
However knowingly placing a dangerously overhanging item is similar as setting a trap awaiting entrapment, as such should not be termed as accidental but with motive. In this case, if something falls below, it should be called HIGH RISE LITTERING!
